Youngest member of the Advisory Group of the Prime Minister’s National Committee for Educational Innovation

Recently, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 782/QD-TTg, officially establishing the Advisory Group of the National Committee for Education and Training Innovation for the 2016-2021 period. This is an important step in the innovation and development of Vietnam’s education. This advisory group will help guide necessary policies and reforms to improve the quality of education and training in the integration period.

Head of the Advisory Group and prominent faces

The Advisory Group is headed by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, former Vice President of Hanoi National University, currently a senior lecturer at this unit. Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc is a prestigious person in the education sector, and under his leadership, the Advisory Group will be an important part of the national education and training reform.

Notable among the members of the Advisory Board is Tran Viet Hung, Founder and Chairman of Got It!. He is a familiar face in the startup world, not only in Vietnam but also in Silicon Valley (USA). Tran Viet Hung is one of the rare Vietnamese people who have built a successful career in this world-leading startup environment.

Got It! – “Make in Vietnam” technology startup reaching out globally

Got It! is a prominent startup with high-intelligence technology products, developed by a team of Vietnamese engineers. Got It!’s products have resonated globally, demonstrating the tireless efforts of a Vietnamese startup in realizing the dream of “Make in Vietnam” – creating, designing and manufacturing in Vietnam.

Got It!’s success comes not only from technology but also from its talented leadership team, who have worked for major technology companies such as Google, Lyft, Oracle, Paypal, and Rakuten. This has helped Got It! attract investment from leading corporations such as Capricorn Investment Group and Kinzon Capital.

Tran Viet Hung’s vision and contributions to Vietnamese education

Not only standing out in the field of technology startups, Tran Viet Hung also has positive contributions to Vietnamese education. In a post on his personal Facebook, he said he wanted to contribute his perspective on Technology, STEM, and future career trends.

According to Hung, although technology engineers in Vietnam have potential, compared to global standards, there is still a gap. “Vietnamese human resources may be strong in software outsourcing, but to create high-value products, we need to make a lot more effort,” he shared.

Hung’s startup experiences in Silicon Valley have given him insight into the combination of technology and education, and this is the reason he is willing to share his knowledge and experience with the National Education Advisory Group.

Got It! – Ambition to become a “unicorn” of Vietnam

With strong progress in the field of educational technology, Got It! is developing rapidly and aims to become a “unicorn startup” (a startup company with a valuation of 1 billion USD) in the near future. Currently, Got It! has raised more than 20 million USD from capital calls, including investments from institutional and individual investors.

Duties of the Education and Training Innovation Advisory Group

According to the Prime Minister’s Decision, the Advisory Group is responsible for organizing research, surveys, and working with ministries, branches, localities and educational institutions to grasp the actual situation and advise the Council and Committee on issues of education and training innovation.

The members of the Advisory Group will contribute their opinions in the process of developing and perfecting legal documents in the field of education, as well as performing tasks assigned by the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Standing Member of the Committee.

Ambition to innovate education from human resources

According to Dr. Tran Viet Hung, to realize the dream of “Make in Vietnam”, education is the key factor. He believes that if we have a good education system, we can completely change the game. But without proper reforms and training, “Make in Vietnam” will forever be just a slogan.

He emphasized that improving the quality of human resources from technology engineers to experts in many different fields is necessary if Vietnam wants to develop high-quality products and reach out to the world.
