The pioneering teachers have proven that the Vietnamese education community can catch up with the world’s technology trends with Generative AI.”
The “Train the Trainers 2024” course is the first program in the world to deploy mass training on Generative AI for teachers on a national scale. This is the beginning of a new journey to improve the quality of education in Vietnam, with the goal of not only training AI knowledge but also supporting teachers to be creative and innovate teaching methods.
Support from international partners
Ms. Mary Elizabeth Polley, Counselor for Culture and Information of the US Embassy in Vietnam, expressed her sincere thanks to the teachers participating in the program. She affirmed that the teachers have contributed to building a dynamic STEAM community, pioneering in applying AI in teaching, and at the same time making Vietnam a country with high-tech education.
The future of AI education in Vietnam
The “Train the Trainers – AI Summer Camp” course of STEAM for Vietnam is not only a pioneering event but also a driving force to promote the widespread application of AI in the classroom. The sessions, which included eight online lectures, took place from June to August 2024, and provided teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate AI into their teaching process, from lesson planning to grading.
In addition, STEAM for Vietnam will continue to organize additional activities, such as the STEAMese Festival 2024 in October, to help teachers continue to develop and effectively apply the knowledge they have learned in practice. Computational Thinking workshops will also be implemented to improve the analytical and problem-solving skills of both teachers and students.
Applying AI to Teaching – A Step Forward for Vietnamese Education
Applying Generative AI to education not only helps optimize teachers’ daily work but also creates conditions for students to self-assess, develop critical thinking skills and logical thinking. STEAM for Vietnam will continue to support teachers through in-depth training programs, while researching and developing new teaching methods to optimize the use of AI in education.
