In the current recruitment context, many companies encounter a situation where candidates have good interview skills, but when they start working, they do not meet the requirements. This not only wastes time but also affects the quality of work and the recruitment process of both parties. Traditional interviews are gradually becoming obsolete, because only when faced with a real job can the recruiter accurately assess the candidate’s ability.
Instead, Got It is testing a completely new recruitment model, eliminating the usual interview process. Instead of spending time sitting and asking questions, candidates will try out the job on the first day and receive a salary. Below are the details of the process of this recruitment model.
Preparation: Prepare for the trial day
Candidates will be at the office at 9:00AM, work with the Admin department to process related documents such as NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement), trial contract and other procedures. Admin will prepare the salary for the candidate in advance based on the current salary or the salary that Got It intends to propose, choose the higher one. At the same time, the candidate will be introduced to the schedule of the day and the list of people they will work with.
The Task: Receive real work
At 10:00AM, the candidate will participate in the Daily Standup with the team and receive a real job like any other member. The assigned task will depend on the candidate’s experience, it can be easy or difficult, but it is definitely practical and meaningful for the company’s project. Nothing evaluates candidates more accurately than letting them directly handle real situations.
Proposal: Problem Solving and Team Communication
From 10:30AM – 12:00PM, the candidate will start to thoroughly research the assigned work, ask questions of team members, search for information, and request quick meetings with the Techlead, PM, design, or QA to understand the problem and propose solutions. During this process, the candidate will work with the Techlead to design the solution. This is a good opportunity to evaluate the candidate’s ability to work in a team, problem solving, and communication skills.
Culture Fit: Assessing cultural fit
The lunch from 12:00PM – 1:00PM will be when the candidate eats with a group of other employees in the company, who they may work with if hired. Through conversation, the candidate and the company will assess the compatibility of the working culture.
Implementation: Implement the solution
From 1:00PM – 5:00PM, the candidate will start coding to turn the morning solution into a real product. During this process, the candidate will work closely with Techlead and related members. At the end of the day, the candidate will create a pull request and participate in code review with the team. This is the most accurate assessment of professional skills, from writing code, using tools, to collaborating with colleagues.
Decision: Final decision
At 6:00PM, all related members will meet quickly to evaluate and make the final decision on recruitment. If the candidate is suitable, they will be invited to celebrate with colleagues. In case of not meeting the requirements, the candidate will receive their salary and say goodbye to the company.
Conclusion
Got It’s new recruitment model is a breakthrough in evaluating candidates honestly and effectively. Instead of relying on interviews, Got It focuses on assessing skills through real work, thereby helping to find truly capable candidates. Not only does this method save time, it also ensures fairness and transparency, and helps candidates better understand the company’s working environment from the first day.
